The Folsom Prison #1 is a 1926 Alco 0-4-0T build in February 1926 at the Paterson New Jersey plant. Originally a contractors locomotive, the Construction Number 66311, Road Number 1) was shipped to the "Folsom State Prison (California)" on November 12, 1926. The #1 was the 3rd "Number 1" that Folsom Prison had. The 1926 Alco worked at Folsom from 1926 to 1954. In 1954 she was sold to the Henry J Kaiser Rock Company out of Orroville, California. From 1954 to the late 60's the #1 worked and remained there till purchased by collector Bert Rudolph and transported her out to his ranch in East Willits. With Bert growing old in age in the 1990's he sold the #1 to Bob Kirtland who then ran Silverbend Farms and had a railroad on the property which consisted of his own 1913 Porter #202 and GE 25 Ton switcher #203, also on the property and operated ocasionally was Lou Chiaramontes 1926 Vulcan #3, the #1 would never operate since retirement and was diassembled further at Kirtlands property in Clarksburg, east of Sacramento.

In December of 2013, Bob Kirtland sold all of his railroad equipment which included the Folsom Prison #1, to Chris Baldo of Willits, California. The equipment is scheduled to move in Summer of 2014 and we hope to go see the #1 before she leaves!
