While yes, we are a repair shop, we are located on the site of the Santa Clarita Valley Railroad which regularly operates excursions. That organization was started by the same man as ours! Mr. Hyde Seybold. Associated with the Seybold Locomotive Works is his private collection of engines and rolling stock.

 To put it simple when Hyde purchases an engine for the SCVR, it is repaired, restored, or rebuilt and operated for the SCVR excursion trains. When Hyde acquires an engine for the Seybold Locomotive Works it means it's becoming a privately owned engine of his collection.

 Hyde purposely built a 2 foot long engine house to house his private collection which consists of 2 4-4-2's, 4 0-4-0s, a 2-8-0, an 0-6-0, and various diesels. Hyde repairs, maintains, and operates his private engines on his own time.

 One weekend every 2 months Hyde likes to host an operating weekend where he rolls out 2 of his steamers and lets let run excursions along the Santa Clarita Valley Railroad's line. This program has been on hiatus for the last couple months and it has not been announced when it will return but stay tuned!
